SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 15
(By Senators Prezioso, Oliverio, Edgell and Kessler)
Congratulating East Fairmont High School marching band as the first
north-central West Virginia school to participate in the
Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, on January
1, 2000.

Whereas, The East Fairmont High School marching band was
selected as one of fifteen marching bands from across the United
States to perform in the 111th Tournament of Roses Parade in
Pasadena, California; and

Whereas, During their performance, the East Fairmont High
School "Busy Bees" were viewed by over one million parade-goers
along the six-mile parade route, plus millions more who watched the
parade on television around the world; and

Whereas, The theme for the 111th Tournament of Roses Parade
was "Celebration 2000-Visions of the Future". As all West Virginia
watched with pride as the East Fairmont High School marching band
performed, they saw a vision of West Virginia's future; and

Whereas, With pride and distinction, the East Fairmont High
School "Busy Bees" and the "Honeybees" were judged as the number
one representative of a geographical region; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate hereby congratulates the East Fairmont High
School marching band for its selection and participation in the
111th Tournament of Roses Parade; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Senate recognizes the pride and
distinction the "Busy Bees" brought not only to East Fairmont High
School, but to the entire State of West Virginia by their
performance at the first Tournament of Roses Parade of the new
millennium; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the East Fairmont High School marching
band.
